يسعى هذا البحث إلى معالجة قضية تبيان الحدود الفاصلة بين مرحلتي ما يسمّى "عصر الانحطاط" وما يسمّى عصر النهضة العربية، كذلك الحدود بين الانبعاث والنهضة والحديث، محاولاً البحث في الموضوع من خلال العودة إلى عدد من الموضوعات التاريخية والأدبية المعنيّة. ويستكمل البحث المعالجة عبر الوقوف على أبرز عوامل الانبعاث والنهضة ومدى أثر حملة القائد الفرنسي نابليون بونابرت (Napoléon Bonaparte/ 1769 – 1821) على مصر في العام 1798، وما تبع هذه الحملة من عومل أثّرت في المشهد العربي على غير صعيد، فضلا عمّا أنتجته الحملة من ردود أفعال واتجاهات ومبادئ أدبية، ولاسيما النظرة إلى الشعر العربي.

This research seeks to address the issue of clarifying the boundaries separating the two stages of the so-called “Age of Decadence” and the so-called Arab Renaissance, as well as the boundaries between revival, renaissance, and modernity, trying to research the subject by returning to a number of relevant historical and literary topics. The research completes the treatment by examining the most prominent factors of revival and renaissance and the extent of the impact of the campaign of the French leader Napoleon Bonaparte (1769 - 1821) on Egypt in the year 1798, and the factors that followed this campaign that affected the Arab scene on many levels, in addition to the results of the campaign. Literary reactions, trends and principles, especially the outlook on Arabic poetry.
