تهدف الدراسة الى ابراز دور المدرسة الجغرافية الامريكية في اعطاء الدراسات الاقليمية اهمية كبيرة، والمعروف عن المدرسة الامريكية انها تحتل وضعا مميزاً في سياق الفكر الجغرافي رغم حداثتها الا انها استطاعت ان تثبت اقدامها بفضل اهتمامها بالدراسات الاقليمية منذ نشأتها إذ ان إظهار التباين بين مكان واخر وبين زمن واخر ضمن مساحة معينه او حيز جغرافي بخصائص طبيعية، تاريخية، بشرية، ثقافية او اقتصادية او اجتماعية معينة كمنظومة مكانية متكاملة بتفاعل جميع عناصرها البيئية هذه الوحدة المكانية تسمى الاقليم Region فهي تعد كوسيلة لفهم التباينات المكانية، وكان للمنهج التاريخي الوصفي والتحليلي الفضل في اكمال البحث لما له اهمية لمثل تلك الموضوعات، وجاءت نتائج البحث بالرغم ما اصاب الدراسات الاقليمية من اهمال في مدة معينه الا انها بقيت من اهتمامات الجغرافيين الامريكان وزادت اهميتها مع التطور التكنولوجيا والتقنيات الحديثة واستخدمها للأساليب الرياضية والاحصائية والنمذجه المكانية وهذا ما يتناوله ويبرزه هذا البحث

The study aims to illustrate the role of the American Geographical School in giving regional studies great importance. It is known that American school occupies a special position in the context of geographical thought despite its modernity; it was able to set its feet due to its interest in regional studies since its inception. The contrast between one place and another, one place and the other, within a certain area or geographical area with natural, historical ,human, cultural, economical or social characteristics as a complete place system where all its environmental elements interact. This spatial unity is called Region
It is considered as a mean to understand spatial variation; the analytical historical descriptive approach has the credit in completing the research due to the importance of such topics. The research results came, despite the negligence for the regional studies at a certain period of time but it remained important to the American geographers and its importance increased with modern technical technology and its use for statistical and mathematical usages and spatial models, and that's what this research is highlighting and discussing
