أن الأزياء الشعبية فن يبدعه العامة من الناس وتتوارثه الأجيال جيلا بعد جيل ويطوعها بما يلائم خصائصه وظروف بيئته ، ويعكس في كثير من سماتها آثار من تاريخ البلد التي تنشأ فيه ، ومن هنا تناول البحث بالدراسة الفوطة اليمنية التي يرتديها الرجال كزى شعبي في المناطق الجنوبية في الجمهورية اليمنية كجانب من جوانب هذا الإبداع الشعبي وذلك من حيث الأصول التاريخية لها ومدى تؤثرها بالعوامل الجغرافية و المناخية ، هذا بالإضافة إلى الخامات المستخدمة فى نسجها ، ومواصفات النول اليدوي المستخدمة فى صناعها من حيث الاسم والشكل و التركيب ، بالإضافة إلى التراكيب النسجية وأساليب الزخرفة المستخدمة فى تزينها .

The popular dresses' making , is an art created by common people, inherited by the successive generations, adapting them, in accordance with their characteristics, environment conditions and reflecting through them some traces of their country of origin. Based on what above-mentioned the research handled the Yemenite Wearing Fouta . the men's popular dress in the Southern regions in the Yemenite Republic, as one aspect of aforementioned popular creativity, in respect of its historical origins, influencing by the geographic and climatic factors. Additionally the research handled the materials, utilized in weaving it, the specification of the manual loom, employed in its manufacturing, in respect of its name, form and composition. The research also addressed the weaving compositions and the decorative approaches, utilized in decorating the Yemenite Wearing Fouta.
