نبذة عن النحل
يصنف النحل على اختلاف أنواعه البالغ عددها 20000 كنوع من الحشرات التي تعود في تصنيفها إلى رتيبة ذوات الخصر*، التي تنتمي إلى رتبة غشائيات الأجنحة، وتختلف هذه الأنواع في طبيعتها تبعاً لاختلاف أشكالها، وألوانها، وأحجامها، ويذكر أنّ حجم النحل البالغ يتراوح بين 2ملم- 4سم تقريباً، وأنه يرتبط ارتباطاً وثيقاً بالدبور، كما يُلاحظ اختلاف في أنماط حياة كل نوع منها، والأماكن التي تتخذها بيوتاً، بالإضافة إلى مواسم نشاطها، ونوع الأزهار التي تزورها، فبعض أنواع النحل تقوم بعملية تلقيح الزهور تبعاً لموعد تفتُّحها وإنتاجها للرحيق، وهناك أنواع تمارس نشاط التلقيح خاصتها طوال النّهار، وأنواع أخرى عند الفجر، وثالثة ليلية تعمل في ضوء القمر، ورغم تعدد أنواع النحل ومواسم نشاطه إلى أنّه يقدم للعالم خدمة بيئية لا تقدّر بثمن، تكمن في كونّه المسؤول عن تلقيح 80% من النباتات المزهرة بالإضافة إلى تلقيح ما نسبته 75% من أشجار الفواكه، والخضروات، والمكسرات.
