يكمن جوهر هذا البحث في التعرف على تباين التوزيع المكاني للسكان المتقاعدين وخصائصهم في محافظة الانبار على مستوى الأقضية والبيئة ولعامي( 2010 -2020 ) وكشف العلاقات المكانية وتبايناتها كحجم وخصائص السكان المتقاعدين.
فقد تبين ان هنالك زيادة كبيرة في حجم السكان المتقاعدين فقد كان عددهم عام 2010 (149566) متقاعد اصبح (270670) متقاعد عام 2020 رافق هذه الزيادة تباين مكاني على مستوى الاقضية, اما توزيعهم حسب البيئة (حضر-ريف) فقد كانت النسبة الاكبر من نصيب الريف وبفارق بسيط حيث بلغت (51,35%).وفيما يتعلق بتقسيمهم حسب النوع الى (ذكور-اناث) فقد كان الحجم الاكبر للذكور في العامين المذكورين, وفيما يخص توزيعهم حسب المهنة (مدني-عسكري) فقد كان الحجم الاكبر من المتقاعدين هو المدني وفي عامي البحث فقد بلغ عددهم (167532) متقاعد مدني عام 2020 بينما بلغ حجم المتقاعدين العسكريين لنفس العام (103183) متقاعد عسكري.

The essence of this research lies in identifying the variation in the spatial distribution of the retired population and their characteristics in Anbar Governorate at the level of districts and environment for the years (2010-2020) and revealing the spatial relationships and their variations as the size and characteristics of the retired population.
It was found that there was a significant increase in the size of the retired population, as their number in 2010 was (149,566) retired, it became (270,670) retired in 2020. This increase was accompanied by spatial variation at the district level. As for their distribution according to the environment (urban-rural), the largest percentage went to Rural, with a slight difference, reaching (51.35%). With regard to their division by gender into (males-females), the largest number of males was in the aforementioned two years, and with regard to their distribution by occupation (civilian-military), the largest number of retirees was civilian In the two years of research, their number reached (167,532) civilian retirees in 2020, while the number of military retirees for the same year was (103,183) military retirees.
