يتناول البحث حروف الجر بين النيابة والتضمين عند ابن جني في كتابه الخصائص، وذلك باستخدام المنهج الوصفي التحليلي، ويهدف إلى تبيين وجهة البصريين والكوفيين بعامة، ووجهة نظر ابن جني من النيابة والتضمين بخاصة، ومن أهم نتائجه أن القول بأن البصريين يميلون للتضمين، ولا يجيزون نيابة الحروف مطلقا، فيه تعميم وعدم دقة وقول صادر عن أحكام جزئية، وغير مبني على اطلاع شامل على أقوال البصريين الأوائل، وكذلك ما نُسب للكوفيين من أنهم يجيزون نيابة الحروف بعضها عن بعض، ويمنعون التضمين أيضا فيه تعميم، وعدم دقة، والصواب أن البصريين يغلب عليهم القول بالتأويل أو التضمين أكثر من الكوفيين، ومع ذكر يجيزون نيابة الحروف بعضها عن بعض، والكوفيون يغلب عليهم النيابة أكثر من البصريين، ولكنهم لا ينكرون التضمين، وكذلك وجدنا ابن جني في كتابه الخصائص يميل للتضمين ولا ينكر النيابة طالما كان المعنى قريبا.

The research deals with prepositions between prosecution and implication according to Ibn Jinni in his book al-Khasat, using the descriptive-analytical approach, and aims to clarify the point of view of the Basrians and the Kufic in general, and the point of view of Ibn Jinni from the prosecution and inclusion in particular.
