إن مصطلح "الزوائد" في النحو العربي سَبَّبَ مشكلات كثيرة، منها عدم معرفة المفاهيم التي يدُلّ عليها هذا المصطلح، واتهام الباحثين للنحويين بالإساءة إلى القرآن باعتقاد أن فيه ألفاظًا لا معنى لها. وهدف الدراسة بيان المفاهيم المختلفة لمصطلح الألفاظ الزائدة، فتارة يُقْصَد به الألفاظُ التي لا تؤدي قيمة لفظية ولا معنوية في التركيب، وتارة يقصد به الألفاظ التي تقدم وظيفة لفظية ولا تدل على معنى، وقد يعني الألفاظ التي ليس لها تأثير إعرابي ولا تُلغي عملَ غيرها، ويعنون بها حينًا آخر الألفاظَ التي توضع في موقع غير موقعها. وقام منهج الدراسة على عرض آراء العلماء القدماء في قضية الزوائد، وأظهرت نتائج البحث استفادة الباحث من النظريات السيميائية والتداولية في توسعة مفهوم الفائدة التي تقدمها الزوائد، وعدم حصرها في اللفظ والمعنى؛ وذلك بجعلها شاملة لكل علاقة تأثير أو تأثر بين العلامة وغيرها مثل المتكلم والمتلقي والموضوع والصورة الذهنية وردة الفعل والعلامات الأخرى.

The term "meaningless morphemes & monemes" in Arabic Grammar has caused many problems, including a lack of knowledge of the concepts that this term denotes, and researchers accusing grammarians of insulting the Qur’an in the belief that there are meaningless morphemes & monemes in it. The aim of the study is to explain the various concepts of "meaningless morphemes & monemes". Sometimes it means morphemes & monemes that have not verbal or moral value in the structure. Sometimes it is meant to provide a verbal function that does not indicate meaning, sometimes it is meant by morphemes & monemes that have no syllabic effect and do not cancel the effect of others, sometimes it means morphemes & monemes that placed in a position in the structure are not positioned. The method of the study was based on presenting the opinions of ancient scholars on the issue of "meaningless morphemes & monemes", and the results of the research showed that the researcher made use of semiotic and pragmatic theories in expanding the concept of the benefit provided by the "meaningless morphemes & monemes", and not limiting them to term and meaning. By making it comprehensive for every influence or influence relationship between the sign and others, such as the speaker, the recipient, the subject, the mental image, the reaction and other signs.
