هدفت الدراسة إلى التعـرف علـى العلاقة بين استخدام طلبة الجامعات المصرية لمواقع التواصل الاجتماعي وتعزيز قيم التسامح لديهم، والتعرف على دور مواقع التواصل الاجتماعي في دعم قيمة التسامح لدى طلبة الجامعات المصرية.
كما تسلط الدراسة الضوء على صور وأشكال المناقشات على وسائل التواصل الاجتماعي لنشر قيم التسامح، في المجال الديني والفكري والسياسي، والتعرف على آراء الطلبة عن التسامح وقبول الآخر
وذلك من خلال دراسة ميدانية استخدم فيها الباحث منهج المسح الإعلامي وقام بإعداد استمارة استبيان، على عينة قدرها 200 طالب وطالبة من مختلف الجامعات المصرية.
واسفرت الدراسة عن:
• كشفت الدراسة عن وجود قوي وواضح لقيم التسـامح بمختلف أبعاده على مواقع التواصل الاجتماعي
• بينت الدراسة وجود عدة صور وأشكال للتسامح يؤمن بها الطلبة الجامعيين عينة البحث وهي التسامح الديني، والتسامح الفكري، والتسامح الاجتماعي، وقد جاءت درجات التسامح الديني والتسامح الاجتماعي والتسامح الفكري كلها مرتفعة، وتبعا لذلك جاء معدل التسامح العام مرتفعا.
• كشفت الدراسة أن التأثيرات المعرفية من جراء استخدام مواقع التواصل الاجتماعي فتجسدت في نبذ الطائفية وقبول الاخر

Study: Abd el-Salam Sayed Mohamed al-Wahaty, entitled "The relationship between Egyptian university students' use of social networking sites and the promotion of their tolerance values" College of Mass Communication, Islamic University of Minnesota, USA (2022)
The study aimed to identify the relationship between Egyptian university students' use of social networking sites and the promotion of tolerance values for them, and to identify the role of social networking sites in supporting the value of tolerance among Egyptian university students.
The study also sheds light on the images and forms of discussions on social media to spread the values of tolerance in the religious, intellectual and political fields, and to identify the students’ views on tolerance and acceptance of the other.
And that was through a field study in which the researcher used the media survey method and prepared a questionnaire, on a sample of 200 male and female students from various Egyptian universities.
The study resulted in:
• The study revealed a strong and clear presence of the values of tolerance in its various dimensions on social networking sites
• The study showed the presence of several forms and forms of tolerance that university students believe in. The research sample is religious tolerance, intellectual tolerance, and social tolerance. The degrees of religious tolerance, social tolerance and intellectual tolerance are all high, and accordingly the general tolerance rate is high.
• The study revealed that the cognitive effects of using social networking sites were embodied in the rejection of sectarianism and acceptance of the other
