Isolation results from infected Thuja trees showed the existence of Pestalotiopsis
funereal, Phoma herbarum ,. and Nigrospora oryzae . ,this is the first record on the
Cedar in Iraq The pathogenicity test result showed the ability of the fungi to cause yellowing
and browning plant leaves starting from crown area to plant tip and causing
plant death after 3 months from inoculation time . Cedar wilting branches test showed
total wilting after treatment with Phoma herbarum culture filtrate as compared to Pestalotiopsis
sp. and Nigrospora oryzae culture filtrate of three fungi had increased water
loss in Cedar branches. The amount of water loss was significantly correlated with culture
filtrate concentration and period of treatment.
