This study was conducted on three cultivars of date palms (Jazaz, Socotrai and Barhi) grown in Hadramout
Valley in the agricultural season 2020, with the aim of comparing some the morphological and physical
characteristics of the leaves and fruits, by studying some morphological characteristics of the leaves, and some
physical characteristics of fruits. And the results were analyzed using a randomized complete sector design., the
results obtained showed that the cultivar factor had an effect on the number of leaves, number of Pinnaes,
number and length of spines in relation to the phenotypic characteristics of leaves, and the length, width, weight
and volume of the fruit in relation to the physical characteristics of the fruits. Where the Barhi cultivar was
significantly superior in the number of leaves and the number and length of spines, and the Jazaz cultivar was
significantly superior in the number of Pinnaes, while the Socotrai cultivar was not significantly superior in any
of the studied morphological characteristics of the leaves. As for the physical characteristics of the fruits, the
Jazaz cultivar was significantly superior in all the studied characteristic.
