الملخص الانجليزي
Two laboratory experiments were carried out to study the effect of the aqueous
extracts of shoot and root systems of
Cyprus rotundus and Sonchus oleraceus weeds
on the rate and speed of germination of the seeds of
Medicago sativa plant and the
length of the hypocotyle and semi roots. Seeds were sown in petri dishes and treated
with aqueous extracts of the two plants. Four levels of concentrations (0، 10، 20، and
30%) were tested. The results showed that the aqueous extracts of
C. rotundus weed
inhibits all the studied properties and the inhibition increased with the increase of
the extracts concentration. The aqueous extracts of the weed
S. oleraceus showed
no effect on rate and speed of germination of seeds but produced varied effect on
hypocotyle and semi root lengths of
M. sativa plant.
