هدفت الدراسة الى توفير الطاقة الكهرباء بما يكفي لسد حاجة السكان والمصانع في القطاع العام والخاص الموجودة في منطقة الدراسة والتقليل من التلوث التى تسببه محطات توليد الكهرباء باستخدام المشتقات النفطية الذي ينتج عن احتراقها غازات منبعثة توثر على البيئة، وكذلك استغلال الطاقه المتجددة وجعلها البديل لمواكبة التطور الحاصل في طرق توليد الطاقه الكهربائية ، وكانت الية البحث في ثلاث محاور تناول المحور الاول الطاقة المتجددة ومصادرها في العراق وقد تناول هذا المحور الطاقة الكهربائية في العراق وكمية انتاجها ومصادر الانتاج وتبين هناك نقص كبير في انتاج الطاقة الكهربائية في العراق يصل الى 50% وكذلك تناول هذا المحور مصدرين مهمين من الطاقة المتجددة وهما الطاقة الشمسية وطاقة الرياح وتبين ان العراق يمتلك مقومات انتاج الكهرباء من تلك الطاقتين من توفر عدد ساعات سطوع كافية وكثافة سرعة رياح جيدة ، اما المحور الثاني من الدراسة جاء في امكانية استثمار الطاقة الشمسية وطاقة الرياح في انتاج الطاقة الكهربائية وقد تبين ان امكانية استثمار هذه الطاقتين ممكنة من خلال توفر مقوماتها في منطقة الدراسة وذلك لتوفر راس المال الذي يعتبر من اهم مقومات قيام هذه المشاريع وكذلك انخفاض كلفة الانتاج لتوفر المقومات الطبيعية في منطقة الدراسة ، اما المحور الثالث تناول المعوقات التي تعيق استثمار الطاقات المتجددة في العراق وتبين انها معوقات بسيطة يمكن تلافيها للنهوض باستثمارات الطاقة المتجددة ، وختم البحث بمجموعة من النتائج والتوصيات التي من شئنها ان تنهض بقطاع انتاج الطاقة الكهربائية من الطاقة المتجددة في بلد الدراسة والحفاض على بيئته من التلوث .

The study aimed to provide electricity enough to meet the needs of the population and factories in the public and private sector located in the study area and reduce the pollution caused by the generation plants that produce electricity using oil derivatives that cause the combustion of gases emitted to affect the environment as well as the use of renewable energy and make it alternative to keep pace with the development in The research was carried out in three axes. The first axis dealt with renewable energy and its sources in Iraq. This topic dealt with the electrical energy in Iraq and the quantity of its production and sources of production. Of electricity production in Iraq up to 50%. In this regard, we also discussed two important sources of renewable energy, namely solar and wind power, and show that Iraq possesses the elements of producing electricity from these energies, providing sufficient hours of brightness and good wind speed. The second axis of the study was the possibility of investing solar energy and wind energy in the production of electric power. It has been shown that the possibility of investing these energies is possible through the availability of its components in the study area to provide the capital which is one of the most important elements of such projects and the low cost of production to provide Natural ingredients in the study area. The third axis addressed the obstacles that hinder the investment of renewable energies in Iraq and found that they are simple obstacles that can be avoided to promote renewable energy investments. The research concluded with a set of conclusions and recommendations that would promote the renewable energy sector in the country of study and protect its environment from pollution caused by fossil-based power plants.
