This Paper aims to study the possibility of using behavioral approaches (Technology Acceptance Models) in rationalizing investment decisions in Information Technology. To achieve research objective and formulation of research model, literature was analyzed and evaluated in the field of Information Technology investments evaluation with a focus on Technology Acceptance Models and theories. This is mainly because Technology Acceptance Models and theories are widely accepted by researchers in the field of human-computer interaction. This paper proposes a theoretical framework based on Unified Theory of Acceptance and Use of Technology (UTAUT), Updating it with relevant variables, and beliefs that are not considered by UTAUT, rather than inclusion of emerging trends proposed by other models and theories and subsequent studies. Not only does the study examine the extent that Decision Makers account for Technology acceptance in IT investment decisions in ARE, but also it explores the possibility of application of Technology acceptance to Users themselves in ARE. To recognize the practices of User Acceptance and IT investment decisions in reality in Egypt, as to determine the external validity of the proposed research model, An exploratory study to these practices was conducted based on Questionnaires distributed among three categories of respondents (User of the system – Decision maker in investments in the system –decision maker who has authority to use system) who worked in a number of listed companies operating in Egypt. The results of the exploratory study are in general so far consistent with what is proposed by theory and literature in the field. However, with regard to incorporating Technology Acceptance in IT investment decisions in ARE, the results reflect lack of awareness of decision makers of Technology Acceptance in such decisions contexts. Reasons account for those results, which are different from expected for decision makers sample, are attributed to reasons associated with the subject of measurement (acceptance of technology). Also decision makers Sample is small rather than the structure of the three samples.
