تتمثل المشكلة الأساسية لهذا لبحث الموسوم ب (دور مواقع التواصل الاجتماعي في تفعيل المشاركة الانتخابية للشباب العراقي ) في الكشف عن الدور الذي تؤديه مواقع التواصل الاجتماعي في تفعيل المشاركة الانتخابية للشباب العراقي ، يقع البحث ضمن البحوث الوصفية واتبع المنهج المسحي لدراسة الجمهور واعتمدت الباحثة الاستبانة كأداة للبحث والتي وزعت على عينة من قوامها 140 مفردة من الشباب تشكلت من الطلبة والموظفين ، والذين يزاولون الأعمال الحرة والعاطلين من الفئة العمرية 18-40 عاما

The main problem of this is to discuss the role of social networking sites in activating the electoral participation of Iraqi youth in revealing the role played by the social networking sites in activating the electoral participation of the Iraqi youth. The research is carried out within the descriptive research and the survey method is used to study the public. Which was distributed to a sample of 140 young people formed of students and employees, who do business and unemployed in the age group 18-40 years, and the most important findings of the research results are: 1 - The Facebook site achieved the highest percentage of use to follow the news of the elections by the sample of the study by 96.8%. 2- 75% of the research sample has 300 or more friends and 12.5% have 200 to less than 300 friends and 8.8% have 100 to less than 200 friends. 3 - The motives behind the use of the respondents to this site without other sites, it (provides an opportunity to express opinions freely) by 58.1%, and then (follow-up news about candidates for elections) by (53.1%). 4. In the first ranking, the category was accepted in terms of social media and other media in pushing young people to boycott the elections (95.6% followed by the phrase), which provided an opportunity for all those interested in the elections to express their views on candidates through social networks Their own) by 87.5% 5. The phrase (contribute to the idea of pushing the Iraqi government to consider postponing elections until the necessary political, economic and social reforms were implemented) in the first ranking in the absence of approval of the sample of the research by 81.2% (46.2%) and mobilized the masses for electoral participation (41.8%). 6. The results show that the role played by social networking sites, which can not be ignored, especially among young people according to the results of this research, is a negative role that calls for boycotting the elections
