يعتبر المخطوط أكبر شاهد على الحركة العلمية والفكرية في شتى أنحاء المعمورة، لأنه يعكس مدى اهتمام القائمين عليه بالعلم، وترسيخه وتدوينه للإفادة والاستفادة. وغايتهم في ذلك ليست الرغبة الذاتية في تحصيل العلم فقط، بل يتجاوزها إلى تقريبه من الآخر والحرص على نقله للأجيال، فقد أفنى المحققون حياتهم خدمة لهذا العلم. ومن أبرز رجالات الغرب الجزائري الذين تركوا بصمتهم في أعماق هذا التاريخ الشيخ أحمد بن مصطفى العلوي- رحمه الله – صاحب الخزانة التي مقرها في مستغانم. ونظرا لحداثة عهدها، وصيانتها، وحفظها من قبل القائمين عليها أصبحت تستقطب العديد من الزائرين، حيث ضمت العديد من المواضيع في فنون متعددة أغلبها في التصوف والفقه، فمنها ما هو مخطوط بيده، وما هو مخطوط بيد غيره، ومنها ما هو مطبوع، ومنها ما لم ينشر بعد. لقد قمت في هذا العمل بفهرسة مخطوطات الخزانة والتي فاق عددها112مخطوطا، ونظرا لكمها الهائل اكتفيت بتسليط الضوء في هذه الورقة على مؤلّفات مشايخ الزاوية العلاوية، وقبل التطرّق إلى فهرسة المخطوطات قدّمت تراجم وجيزة لمشايخ الطريقة والزاوية العلاوية وأهم الأعمال التي قاموا بها، ثمّ تناولت بالتفصيل المؤلّفات المخطوطة لشيوخ الطريقة المتواجدة بالمكتبة واصفا إياها ماديا وفنّيا وذاكرا لموضوعها ومعلومات عن نسخه

The manuscript is considered the largest witness to the scientific and intellectual movement around the globe, because it reflects the interest of those involved in this science, and its consolidation and codification to get benefits. Their purpose in this is not the self-desire to acquire knowledge, but rather to bring it closer to the other and to ensure that it is transmitted to generations. In fact, Investigators have spent their lives serving this science. One of the most prominent men of the Algerian West who left a considerable touch in history is Sheikh Ahmad bin Mustafa Al-Alawi - may Allah have mercy on him - the owner of the famous bookstore in Mostaganem.
