شاع في بعض كتب التاريخ وفي بعض كتب التراجم خبر لقاء أبي حيان الأندلسي بابن تيمية-رحمهما الله! - وما دار بينهما من حديث ومنه تخطئة ابن تيمية لسيبويه، ودفاع أبي حيان عن سيبويه-رحمه الله! -.
وفي هذا البحث نحاول معرفة الحقيقة وكشف الغطاء حول ما ذكر؛ وذلك بجمع المصادر التي ذكرت هذه القصة، ثم بيان ثبوتها من عدمه؟ ومدى صحة ما جاء فيها، وأوجه الضعف والخلل التي يعتريها؟ وهل ثمت أخطاء لسيبويه حقيقة أو لا؟

It was widely reported in some history books and in some biographies that Abu Hayyan Al-Andalusi met with Ibn Taymiyyah - may God have mercy on them both! - And the conversation that took place between them, including Ibn Taymiyyah’s error regarding Sibawayh, and Abu Hayyan’s defense of Sibawayh - may God have mercy on him! -.
In this research, we try to find out the truth and uncover the cover about what was mentioned. This is done by collecting the sources that mentioned this story, then explaining whether it is proven or not? What is the correctness of what is stated in it, and the weaknesses and imbalances that it encounters? Were there any mistakes made by Sibawayh in reality or not?
