الملخص العربي
This study develops in detail the polar material analogue of an elastic plate model that is suitable for static and dynamic analysis of fibre-reinforced elastic plates and consistent with the displacement approximation introduced by , ). Unlike its conventional counterpart which perceives the fibres as mathematical curves, the present model accounts for fibre thickness and, therefore, for the ability of individual fibres to resist bending. It is seen that, when relevant micro-mechanics effects are properly accounted for, the Reissner’s displacement field enables the resulting plate model to acquire advanced mathematical features met in relevant refined plate models. In particular, it recovers completely information relevant to a certain type of edge boundary effects that are seemingly accounted for by all refined, transverse shear deformable plate models but are unaccountable by conventional Reissner-type elastic plate models.
