الملخص العربي
The objective of this study is to produce coloured opaque dental porcelain by analyzing the raw materials using XRD, XRF and particle size analysis to determine their quality. Then mixed for 2 hours, melting at 1350°C for 4 hours, quenching in cold water to form frit. Frit was crushed using fast mill machine, and sieved to pass 75µm. Three different additives (pigments, i. e. zirconia, ceria and vanadium oxides) were added to the powder to produce coloured opaque dental porcelain. The sintered pellets were prepared by compaction the powder at 60MPa and sintering at 980°C for 1min using dental furnace. Then compared with shade of commercially available opaque dental porcelain. The results showed that the specimen with 0.5 wt% zirconia and 5.0 wt% vanadium oxide produced colour similar to commercial opaque dental porcelain (shade B2).
