هدف البحث التعرّف على فاعلية استخدام نظام الفورمات (4Mat) في تعليم الجغرافيا على تنمية بعض عادات العقل لدى طالبات الصف الأول المتوسط، ولتحقيق هذا الهدف استخدمت الباحثتان المنهج شبه التجريبي ذا التصميم القبلي- البعدي والمعتمد على المجموعة الواحدة، وتم إعداد دليل إرشادي يوضح خطوات استخدام نظام الفورمات (4Mat) عند تعليم الموضوعات الجغرافية لطالبات الصف الأول المتوسط، ومقياس لعادات العقل مكون من عدة عبارات، بلغ عددها (40) عبارة، وبعد التأكد من صدق وثبات المقياس تم تطبيقه على عيّنة بلغ عددها (30) طالبة من طالبات الصف الأول المتوسط في المتوسطة الأولى بالطائف، وأظهرت النتائج وجود فروق ذات دلالة إحصائية عند مستوى(α ≤05‚0) بين متوسطي درجات طالبات الصف الأول المتوسط قبل وبعد تطبيق نظام الفورمات في مقياس عادات العقل لصالح القياس البعدي ولقياس الفاعلية تم حساب نسبة الكسب المعدل لبلاك (Blake)؛ حيث بلغت النسبة للمقياس ككلّ (1,20)؛ مما يدل على أن نظام الفورمات له فاعليّة في تنمية عادات العقل لطالبات الصف الأول المتوسط، وقد أوصت الباحثتان بعدة توصيات؛ من أهمها تعزيز الاهتمام بعادات العقل لدى الطلاب؛ من خلال مراعاة أنماط تعلمهم، والاستفادة من نظام الفورمات (4Mat) في تصميم عملية التعلم والتعليم.

Abstract: The aim of the research is to examine the effectiveness of utilizing the (4Mat) system in geography class to develop the habits of mind among the first intermediate grade students. For this purpose the researchers used the one-group quasi-experimental approach of pre-post design, besides a guide has been prepared explaining the steps to employ the 4Mat system when teaching the geographical content to the first intermediate grade students, and a measure of habits of mind consisting of several phrases, totaled (40) items. After confirming the validity and reliability of the scale it was applied to a sample of (30) female students. The results showed statistically significant differences at the level of (α ≤05‚0) between the mean scores of the first intermediate grade students before and after applying the 4Mat system in measuring the habits of mind in favor of post-measurement. To measure the effectiveness, the Modified Blake's Gain Ratio was calculated where the ratio for the test as a whole was (1,20); indicating that the 4Mat system was effective in developing the habits of mind for the first intermediate grade students. The two researchers have suggested several recommendations; the most important of which is to enhance interest in the habits of mind among learners; by considering their learning patterns, as well as utilize the (4Mat) system in the design of learning and teaching process.
