As yet, studies led on wastewater treatment in Morocco have arisen the interest of natural technologies. Nevertheless, it remains several difficulties for conception and exploitation of these technologies. In this way, an experimental system totalling 17 treatment ponds has been tested in M'Diq (NW of Morocco). Results obtained by following-up primary, secondary, tertiary and quaternary pollution parameters (SS, COD, BOD, TN, PT, CF and SF) show an efficient primary and secondary pollution retention of semi-aquatic and terrestrial ecosystems, The later ones would present an eminent efficiency in tertiary treatment and disinfection.
