تعد لجان الحقيقة احدى اهم الآليات التي استخدمت في مرحلة العدالة الانتقالية من اجل تحقيق العديد من اهداف هذه المرحلة, وقد تنوعت تجارب هذه اللجان وحسب خصوصية كل دولة فهناك عشرات الدول التي لجأت الى استخدام آليه لجان الحقيقة. وتهدف هذه اللجان بصورة رئيسية الى كشف حقيقة ما وقع من انتهاكات لحقوق الإنسان, والذي يعد الأساس الذي يتم عبره تفعيل حق الانتصاف وجبر الضرر وتحميل المسؤولية وتحقيق المصالحة، ولعبت لجان الحقيقة دورأ مهماً في العديد من التجارب في إعمال الحق في معرفة الحقيقة ولكن هناك العديد من العراقيل والصعوبات التي واجهت هذه اللجان مما ترك اثرأ على مدى فاعلية هذه اللجان في تفعيل الحق في معرفة الحقيقة سواء بذاته او بما يترتب عليه من اثار.

Truth commissions are one of the most important mechanisms used in the transitional justice phase in order to achieve many of the goals of this phase. The experiences of these commissions have varied according to the specificity of each country. There are dozens of countries that have resorted to using the truth commissions mechanism. These committees mainly aim at revealing the truth about the human rights violations that occurred, which is the basis for activating the right to remedy, reparation, holding responsibility and achieving reconciliation. Obstacles and difficulties faced by these committees, which left an impact on the effectiveness of these committees in activating the right to know the truth, whether by itself or with its consequences.
