الملخص الانجليزي
The present research aimed to identify moral intelligence among a sample of public high school
students. The sample consisted of 348 Libyan students. The research sample was selected using
stratified random sampling. The Moral Intelligence Scale prepared by researchers and consisted
of (37) items and seven dimensions (i.e., Empathy, Conscience, Respect, Self-Control, Tolerance,
Justice, Sympathy). The results revealed that the instrument was reliable (split-half; r = 0.92,
test-retest; r = 0.80, and Cronbach’s alpha; r = 0.88) and valid. For discriminant validity, the
results indicated that all items were statistically significant at the level of (0.05). Using Construct
validity, the results showed that items had good correlations at the total score of the scale, and its
Dimensions. As shown, dimensions correlated highly with the total score of the scale (rs of 0.69,
0.67, 0.68, 0.63, 0.62, 0.77, and 0.64 for empathy, conscience, respect, self-control, tolerance,
justice, sympathy, respectively). To achieve its objectives, the descriptive and analytical method
was used. The results indicated that high school students had a high score of moral intelligence as
a whole and for all dimensions. As indicated, there were statistically significant differences
between males and females in scores for the full scale in favor of female students. The results
showed that there were no statistically significant differences on the full scale at the level of
(0.05) with regard to study year variable. As shown, there were no statistically significant
differences on the full scale at the level of (0.05) according to academic specialization variable.
