Dr. Mohamed Samir Youssef is a visiting professor at the faculty of agriculture and food sciences, University of Manitoba, Canada, and he is also an Associate Professor of Molecular Genetics at the Department of Botany, Faculty of Science, University of Kafrelsheikh. Dr Youssef does research in Botany, Genetics, Molecular biology and Biotechnology. His current projects include 1- Phenotypic and Molecular characterization of Soybean Commercial verities and transgenic lines expressing altered levels of Phytoglobin under Drought and Salinity stresses 2- Characterization and evaluation of the genetic structure of economically important plants (including crops, trees and medicinal plants) using Morphological, Cytological, Biochemical and Molecular Markers. 2- Evaluation of Cytotoxicity, genotoxicity and mutagenic potentiality of ZnO nanoparticles. 3- In vitro selection and molecular characterization of drought-tolerant cell lines of Rice (Oryza sativa L.) 4- Molecular studies on rice (Oryza sativa L.) resistance and pathogenicity of its common fungal diseases in Egypt.
