- Piezoelectric polymer Nanocomposites manufactured in this work by adding Nano Yttrium Oxides in three ratios (3,6,9 wt.%) to the polymeric blend consist of Polyvinyl difluoride and Polymethyl methacrylate (1:9). The technique of FTIR used to know the type of bonding that might be occurred among three components, the Piezoelectric behavior studied by the Kethely electrometer device, morphological behavior of composites studied by the techniques of Digital microscope and Atomic force microscope. Dielectric properties of D.C and A.C were measured by HIOKI 3532-50 LCR Hi device tester, wettability test was done by using Contact Angle Meter (SL200B Optical) device and Hardness was measured by Shore D Scale, DSC techniques used to study the temperature transformation. Investigation of using these composites as Humidity sensors was done by measuring its electrical resistivity in the wide range of relative humidity (10%-90%). Results proved that there's no chemical bonding between the prepared composite's components in the FTIR test, this composites gave Piezoelectric behavior where the electrical resistance decreases by increasing the pressure. These results also proved that these few ratios of Y2O3 made the surface smoother and homogeneous, while at higher ratios of Y2O3 caused an increase in the roughness of the surface. The dielectric properties test showed the losses coefficient increase by increasing the frequency while the dielectric constant decreased. The composites exhibited more hydrophilic by increasing the Nano Yttrium oxides material's ratios, the results also proved that the few ratios from the addition the Y2O3 caused the hardness to be linear. The results proved the possibility of using these composites as humidity sensors where the electrical resistivity decreases as the relative humidity increasing.
