هذه الدراسة هي محاولة لقياس حجم الهوة الجندرية في دول شمال إفريقيا، ومدى تقدم وضع المرأة في هذه الدول في مسار تحقيق المساواة مع الرجل والتمكين في المناصب السياسية وصناعة القرار، وترى أن هذه الدول لم تستغل كما يجب إمكانيات المرأة باعتبارها نصف المجتمع، ولم تمنحها الفرصة لإثبات قدراتها التنافسية، مركزة على تجربتي تونس والجزائر في هذا المجال، وخاصة ما يتعلق بالمشاركة السياسية للمرأة في المجالس المحلية والوطنية ومواقع اتخاذ القرار، ولذلك تقترح كنتائج ضرورة تعميق الفهم للوضع القائم وطبيعة العراقيل والتحديات والفرص المتاحة أمام المرأة.

This study is an attempt to assess the current size of the gender
gap by measuring the extent to which women in north Africa countries
have achieved equality with men in political empowerment, Countries
that do not capitalize on the full potential of one half of their societies
are misallocating their human resources and undermining their
competitive potential.
The study focused on Algerian and Tunisian experience in this
area, especially the participation of women in politics and decisionmaking. Therefore, its findings proposed as a conclusion that the
position of women needed building a more understanding of the
status, obstacles, challenges and opportunities for his leadership and
their participation in politics and decision-making at the local and
national levels
