الملخص العربي
Extra and intracellular antimycobacterial activity of the root bark of Berberis hispanica. The aqueous and ethanolic extracts of the root bark of Berberis hispanica (B. vulgaris subsp. australis) were tested against the growth of three mycobacteria. The CMI of the ethanolic extract was 0.15, 0.2 and 1.1 mg/ml for Mycobacterium aurum A+, M. bovis IPP and M. smegmatis MC2, respectively. 1.1 mg/ml had a bactericidal effect on M. smegmatis MC2 infecting rat peritoneal macrophages.
