Hatem Elaydi received the B.S. degree in Electrical Engineering (Summa cum Laude) from Colorado Technical University, USA in 1990, and his M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in Electrical Engineering from New Mexico State University, USA in 1993 and 1997 respectively. He is currently an associate professor of the Electrical Engineering Department at the Islamic University of Gaza. He held several administrative positions such as: Associate vice president for academic affairs, head of administrative quality assurance unit, assistant college of engineering dean for projects, head of Electrical & Computer Engineering, assistant College of Engineering dean for Projects and Quality Assurance, chairman of the Resources Development Center, and a founding member of the Quality Assurance Unit at the Islamic University of Gaza. He is an IEEE member since 1988. He an expert in the field of quality assurance and evaluations and was certified by the UNDP with field experience in higher education, NGOs, and projects. His expertise covers also governance and strategic planning. He was a member of the Palestinian national team that evaluated all IT and Engineering programs in 2005-2007. He authored and coauthored several papers and conducted several national workshops. He was member of either program committees, steering committees, or technical committees of regional and international conferences. He supervised award winning senior projects (IEEE 2001, Hisham Hejawi 2002, Zohair Hejawi 2007). He is member of editorial board for the International Arab Journal on Information Technology, the International Arab Journal of e-Technology (IAJeT), member of Technical committee or editorial boards of several international journals. He has over 15 years of consultation experience in the Gaza Strip. He also authored numerous papers and reports in the field of evaluations, ICT and quality assurance.
