تناول الفصل الاول مدينة سوق الشيوخ في كتابات الرحالة والمسؤولين الاجانب للمدة 1761-1920 ،اما الفصل الثاني فتطرق الى هجرة العوائل النجدية الى سوق الشيوخ الاسباب والنتائج
اما الفصل الثالث فتطرق الى سوق الشيوخ خلال الاحتلال البريطاني 1914-1918 وتناول الفصل الرابع واقع الصابئة المندائييين في مدينة سوق الشيوخ ،في حين تطرق الفصل الخامس الى اوضاع الصحة والتعليم في سوق الشيوخ وتطورها خلال العهد الملكي

The book deals with the history of the city of Suq al-Shuyukh, which is located 30 km from the headquarters of Dhi Qar Governorate. The book includes an introduction, five chapters, a conclusion and a list of sources
The first chapter deals with the city of Suq al-Shuyukh in the writings of travelers and foreign officials for the period 1761-1920. The second chapter deals with the migration of Najd families to the market of the sheikhs.
Chapter III deals with the market of the sheikhs during the British occupation 1914-1918 Chapter IV dealt with the reality of Sabean Mandaeans in the city of Suq al-Shuyukh, while the fifth chapter dealt with the health and education conditions in the market of the sheikhs and their development during the royal era
