ABSTRACT
Undoubtedly, many poets have treated unjustly and did not pay attention to them from one of the researchers, probably due to the lack of famous poets, or the lack of resources that deal with their poetry; and one of these poets is (Ibn Lankak Al-Basri), his life is distinguished by varied kinds of culture and literature and poetry, he portrays his period events in an accurate depiction, and wrote down through his poetry marvelous poetic meanings, and he was considered one of the poets of insurgency epoch, and what aroused our attention perhaps is the expressed image of metonymy about the bitter life reality when the poet lived and his rebel viewpoint, and for that the researchers sought to study that and named the research as (The Aesthetic Image of the Metonymy in the poetry of Ibn Lankak, b. 360 A.H.)
And the search is organized by three demands, while the preface is stated for the poet's life, then touched it to the beauty and image statement and metaphor in language and terminology, and no doubt that beauty is an incentive for the same to show emotion and gives them pleasure and a sense of regularity and harmony, exemplified by the metonymy image and the demands of the search of the three, the first was requirement: metonymy for prescribed. The second requirement: its title was the metaphor for the adjective, and the third demand is about the metonymy for all proportion, and comes to the conclusion which records the most important findings of the research.

وانتظم البحث في تمهيد وثلاثة مطالب، أما التمهيد فبيَّ نتُ فيه حياة الشاعر، ثم تطرقت فيه إلى بيان الجمال والصورة والكناية
في اللغة والاصطلاح، ولاشك أن الجمال يُشَكِّلُ حاف ا زً للنفس لإظهار العاطفة ويبعث فيها السرور والاحساس بالانتظام والتّناغم، جسَّدته
الصورة الكنائية في مطالب البحث الثلاثة، فكان المطلب الأول: الكناية عن موصوف وأما المطلب الثاني: فكان عنوانه الكناية عن
صفة، وتحدَّث المطلب الثالث: عن الكناية عن نسبة، وجاءت الخاتمة لتسجِّل أهم النتائج التي توصَّل إليها البحث.
