منذ ظهور علوم التربية، والبحث متواصل من أجل عقلنة وترشيد العملية التعليمية /التعلمية، فعكف المنظرون و المفكرون و الفلاسفة على الاضطلاع بمهمة إيجاد الوسائل و العوامل و المناهج التي تحقق أسمى ما يصبو إليه الانسان من أهداف ومقاصد تربوية، فتنوعت المدارس الفلسفية ، و المرجعيات التي تضبط مفهوم التربية ، غير أن هذا المفهوم رافقه مفهوم آخر وهو البيداغوجيا التي يندرج مفهومها ضمن المفاهيم القديمة قدم التربية وقدم المجتمعات البشرية نفسها، ومع التطور العلمي وما رافقه من تحولات شملت كل مظاهر الحياة ، تطور مفهوم البيداغوجيا وتعدد بتعدد واختلاف دلالاتها الاصطلاحية من جهة ، وبسبب تداخلها مع مفاهيم وحقول معرفية أخرى مجاورة لها من جهة ثانية.
لكل هذا سنحاول في هذا البحث أن نقدم مقاربة مفاهيمية للبيداغوجيا من حيث مفهومها ، وأهدافها ، ووظائفها ، وعلاقتها ببعض المفاهيم الأخرى.
