ان التطورات المختلفة على وسائل الاعلام وما تواكب من احداث في المجتمع يشهد حركة سريعة حيث لها دور كبير في نشر الثقافة الرياضية في المجتمع فوسائل الاعلام تهتبر الوسيلة الاكثر تأثير في تعريف الافراد لدور الرياضة في تطوير المجتمع من كافة الجوانب أي من الناحية النفسية والبدنية والعقلية ، فنلاحظ ان ضغوطات الحياة وما يمر بة الافراد من حياة سريعة ليس فيها عامل مؤثر في احداث تغيير نفسي وايجابي على حياة الفرد وهنا يأتي دور الرياضة والمنافسة بين الفرق الرياضة فخلال مشاهدة أي مباراة سوف يخلق عامل من المنافسة نتيجة جذب انتباة الافراد لنوع المنافسة فهذه الالعاب مهما اختلفت فكل فرد له ميل معين لنوع الرياضة التي يرغب اليها فنجدة يتابعها بشدة وينتظر موعد المباراة ليشاهدها من خلال التلفاز وتبدأ مرحلة النقاش في نوع اللعب للفريق الذي يشجعه وهذا الامر لا يقتصر على جنس الذكور فنجد ايضا الاناث لديهن رغبة في متابعة هذا الامر ولكن تبقى نوع الثقافة الرياضية هي التي تتحكم في تحقيق هذه الاعتقدات لذا فمن خلال ما ذكر سابقا تتجلى اهمية البحث الى اثبات دور القنوات الرياضية في نشر الثقافة الرياضية لدى طلبة بعض كليات جامعة بابل .
