Socio-economic importance of wetland plant species in NW of Morocco. The exploitation of the welland plants in NW of Morocco presents a particular importance. The most often, it belongs to the traditional economic sector. Nevertheless, no study of evaluation has been devoted to this subject. An inquiry led in provinces of NW of Morocco has allowed us to inventory 33 wetland plant species exploited as well as their different utilizations. Potential exploitations have been also underlined. Sa as to evaluate the fallen economic of the macrophytes, we estimate the unit price Of the biomass and the main products finish, the financial product and/or the potential net income by exploiting for 15 of they. Real substitutes namely natural species (imported or upland ones), artificial substitutes and some local activities were used in the relative economic evaluation of macrophytes. The main social impacts of these types of exploitation were underlined.
