Abstract. Violence against women is a widespread problem of human rights.The use of violence against women is an obstacle in the way of frightening social and economic growth for all nations of the world because it deprives women from full participation in activities and creative ideas because they are suffering from physical and psychological abuse. Domestic violence is considered the most pervasive form including physical, sexual, psychological and economic abuse. Violence is an important risk factor related to ill health of women, having far reaching consequences affecting physical, social, mental and reproductive health of the victims.
We think that minimizing or reducing violence against women is a complex process that requires shared undertakings by various parties such as governments, private NGOs, and the individual participation. These devotions would ensure that a proper solution is reached to the undergoing problem. It is a social issue in which implications are reflected on the society as a whole. The purpose of this study is to find the relationship between governmental policies and mitigation of domestic violence against rural women. Methodology This study is based on a sample descriptive survey. The sample is 46 women suffering from domestic violence and beneficiaries of the National Council for Women in Assiut. The results of the study concluded that there is a significant correlation between governmental policies and mitigation of domestic violence forms of physical, psychological,and Economic Abuse against rural women.
