ملخص البحث
يلقي هذا البحث الضوء على اسم الفاعل كونه اسم مشتق لا يمتلك إشارة زمنية محددة في اللغة العربية. حيث يحاول إيجاد ما يقابله وما يجري عليه من تغيرات في النواحي الشكلية و الوظيفية في اللغة الإنكليزية هذا بالإضافة إلى إشارته الزمنية. أجري هذا البحث من خلال استبيان مؤلف من عشر جمل تحوي كل منها على اسم فاعل وطلب من عشرين مترجما نقلها إلى اللغة الإنكليزية. أظهرت الترجمات لهذه الجمل أن أسماء الفاعل قد تحولت إما إلى أفعال أو أسماء أو صفات أو أسماء فاعل.

Abstract
Nomen Agentis is a derived noun that refers to non-finite time reference. It functions as a noun or an adjective. This paper sheds light on the Nomen Agentis in Arabic and tries to see what is the realization of the nomen agents in English and what are the formal and functional changes that take place in its realization in English as well as its time reference. The study is conducted through a questionnaire of ten sentences, each of which contains a nomen agentis collected from different Arabic books and distributed among twenty subjects. The renderings of these sentences show that the nomena agentis are realized either by verbs, nouns, adjectives or -ing participles.
