ويهدف الكتاب الذي بين أيدينا لكشف إسهامات شراح الدواوين العباسية في نشأة وتأصيل وتطور المباحث البلاغية، لإيمان الباحث أن لا مناص لمن يتصدى لشرح النصوص الأدبية من الاتكاء على المباحث البلاغية في محاولته إيصال معنى البيت الشعري لقرائه؛ لان من غير الممكن أن يفهم الشارح المعنى ويدرك غرض النص الشعري في أبعاده ومراميه ما لم يكن متكئاً على قدم راسخة في علوم اللغة عامة ومباحث البلاغة خاصة.
