يتناول البحث مسألة تعامل العرب والأوربيين مع الرقيق الأفارقة وكيفية معالجة كلا الطرفين لتلك المشكلة التي حاول الغرب إلصاق التهم بالعرب وتحميلهم النتائج الكارثية لها عبر محاولة إيهام الأفارقة بان من دمر بلادهم ومزقها هم العرب وأن من استعبد أبنائهم وبدأ بتجارة الرقيق هم العرب ، وكانت الغاية التي يطمح الغرب تحقيقها من وراء ذلك تتمثل في تشويه صورة العرب في عيون الأفارقة ومحاولة تكوين هوة كبيرة بين الجانبين وهو ما فشلوا في تحقيقه لان الأفارقة لم تنطلي عليهم تلك الأساليب وقارنوا بأنفسهم بين الموقفين العربي والأوربي ولاحظوا كيف تعامل الغرب مع المسألة وكيف حصدوا أبناء القارة من الشباب وأخذوهم للعمل في بلدانهم وقتلوا الأطفال والشيوخ والنساء وحرقوا القرى والمدن وسلخوا الأفريقي من مجتمعه عبر القضاء على هويته الأفريقية ومحاولة منحه هويتهم الغربية ، كل ذلك حاول البحث توضيحه ومعالجته .
