ABSTRUCT
The results of the preliminary survey showed that had been done by collecting samples
of Ziziphus spaina christi leaves infected by blackflies Aleurolobus marlatti (Quaint.)
which included all Iraqi governorates during Autumn 2012 showed the prevalence of
species of blackflies Aleurolobus marlatti It affects Ziziphus spaina christi trees with
different ratios and intensity depending on the governorate i.e., according to the nature
of the location of Iraq and its geographical variant environmental conditions of the
whole country that samples were brought from leaf the injury of A. marlatti (Quaint.)
focused on the upper surface of Ziziphus spaina christi varying ratios of injury and
severity depend on the nature of Iraq geographical location and different
environmental conditions of provinces (north, central, west, and south). Results
showed that Al- Qadisiyah has the highest population density of black fly A. marlatti
(Quaint.) and recorded 1098 pupa/100 Nabk leaves as well as its superiority in
incidence was 89%, among superiority Central Euphrates provinces and all Iraq
governorates . Al- Najaf has less infection rate which was 51% and the severity of
injury 253 pupa/100 Nabk leaves, Al-Basra was at the forefront of the southern
governorates by injuring 87% and the severity of injury 875 pupa/100 Nabk leaves,
while Wasit has less severity which was 432 pupa/100 Nabk leaves and by injury
75% within the southern governorates. Trees Nabk in Saladin governorate was most
affected by this insect by injury ratio 79% and injury 564 pupa /100 Nabk leaves ,hence,
it overtake Baghdad recorded infection rate of 77% and density 484 pupa/100 Nabk
leaves of the central and northern Iraq , and Kurdistan Region, Erbil Governorate has
the low infection rate which is 39% and population density 44 pupa/100 Nabk leaves.
Finally, the western region represented by Al- Anbar province has lower rate and
severity of injury in all governorates of Iraq, where the rate of infection is 36% and
population density is 13 pupa/100 Nabk leaves.
