هدفت الدراسة إلى تحديد أهم التحديات التي تقف في وجه استخدام التعليم عن بعد من قبل أعضاء هيئة التدريس، واقتراح الحلول والمعالجات التي من شأنها معالجة هذه التحديات.
استخدم البحث منهج المسح الاجتماعي بالعينة، والمنهج المقارن والمنهج الإحصائي، كما استخدم الاستبيان الإلكتروني لجمع البيانات الميدانية، وتم توزيع الاستبيان على أعضاء هيئة التدريس من خلال الانترنت عبر الموقع الالكتروني جوجل وبلغ عددهم (250) عضو هيئة تدريس من جامعات عربية متنوعة.
وضعت فرضية اساسية للبحث تمثلت في "ما المعوقات التي تقف بوجه التعليم عن بعد في الجامعة" ، وتم تفكيك هذه الفرضية إلى عدد من الفرضيات الفرعية تعالج كل واحدة منها أحد جوانب الموضوع، فمنها ما يهتم بالمعوقات التي تخص الجانب العلمي وأخرى حول الجانب التقني والفني وثالثة تخص المعوقات المالية ورابعة اهتمت بالمعوقات الادارية.
اهتم البحث بتعريف عدد من المفاهيم، واستعرض بعض الدراسات التي اهتمت بالموضوع أو كانت قريبة منه.
تضمن البحث ملخصا لأهم النتائج التي خرجت بها الدراسة وبعض الاقتراحات التي من شأنها معالجة هذه المعوقات، كما تضمن البحث عدد من المصادر التي تم الاستعانة بها.

"Challenges of using distance learning at the university from the viewpoint of faculty members"

The study aims to identify the most important challenges that stand in the way of the use of distance education by faculty members, and to suggest solutions and treatments that will address these challenges.
The research used the social survey method of the sample, the comparative approach and the statistical approach, as well as the electronic questionnaire was used to collect field data, and the questionnaire was distributed to faculty members through the internet via the Google website and they numbered (250) faculty members from various Arab universities.
A basic hypothesis was put forward for the research represented in "What are the obstacles that stand in the face of distance education at the university", and this hypothesis has been dismantled into a number of sub-hypotheses, each of which addresses one aspect of the topic, some of which are concerned with the obstacles that relate to the scientific side and the other on the technical and technical side and a third Concerning financial constraints and the fourth concerned with administrative constraints.
The research interested in defining a number of concepts, and reviewed some studies that were interested in the topic or were close to it.
The research included a summary of the most important results of the study and some suggestions that would address these constraints. The research also included a number of sources that were used.
