تعاني مدننا اليوم من تراكم المشاكل الحضرية المعاصرة وقلة كفاءة المتغيرات (الاجتماعية والاقتصادية والبيئية) الناشئة بسبب ارتفاع حجم السكان والضغط المتزايد على الخدمات المتاحة فحيث يستوجب البحث عن إدارة تهتم بإعادة التوازن بين المتطلبات الحالية والمستقبلية، وتضمن حيز مكاني واضح ومحدد المعالم لمحاولة التنسيق بين عوامل مختلفة والتي تتمثل في السكان والنشاطات ومصادر التمويل.
لهذا أصبحت الإدارة الحضرية من أهم ركائز التنمية الحضرية المستدامة، لذلك لابد من الاهتمام بدارسة عناصرها وأهم المعوقات التى تحول دون كفاءة مخرجات تلك العملية. وباتت يُعول عليها للخلاص من المشاكل والمعوقات التي تجابه المدن في الحاضر والمستقبل. فكثير من الدول تعاني مدنها الكبيرة والصغيرة من قصور في كفاءة أداء الإدارة الحضرية بها، خاصة فى الأونة الأخيرة في ظل الظروف الراهنة وغياب المسطرة القانونية مما ترتب عليها ظهور ترسانة من المشكلات الحضرية المختلفة التى تعيق الوصول إلى التنمية المستدامة، لذا كانت تلك المشكلات موضع إهتمام الدراسات التخطيطية

Our cities today suffer from the accumulation of contemporary urban problems and the inefficiency of the variables (social, economic and environmental) arising due to the high population size and the increasing pressure on the available services, as it is necessary to search for an administration concerned with restoring the balance between current and future requirements, and ensuring a clear and well-defined spatial space to try to coordinate between different factors Which is represented in the population, activities and sources of funding.
Therefore, urban management has become one of the most important pillars of sustainable urban development, so it is necessary to pay attention to studying its elements and the most important obstacles that prevent the efficiency of the outputs of that process. It has become relied upon to get rid of the problems and obstacles facing cities in the present and the future. Many countries, large and small cities, suffer from shortcomings in the efficiency of the performance of urban management in them, especially in recent times in light of the current circumstances and the absence of legal procedures, which resulted in the emergence of an arsenal of various urban problems that impede access to sustainable development, so these problems were of interest to studies Schematic.
