In this research it has been studied the relative effects fiber core ellipticity and stress-induced birefringence on polarization properties in a single- mode optical fiber. The diameter of core material was (4um)and the total diameter was (85um) for different small ellipticity various of rations of relative core /cladding index. Results shows that the magnitude of model birefringence was lineaity proportional for small values from core ellipticity, while the slight deviation from linearity for the large values from ellipticity near higher mode cutoff (V=2.4) for single-mode optical fiber which fiber was operated
