هدفت هذه الدراسة إلى إلقاء الضوء على الدور المهم للرعاية التربوية للمسنين في الإسلام والذي يتلخص في التعرف على الحاجات النفسية والكشف عن الحاجات الاجتماعية، والتعرف على الحاجات الاقتصادية، ومعرفة الحاجات الجسمية، والكشف عن الحاجات الصحية، والتعرف على الحاجات الجمالية، ومعرفة الحاجات الجنسية كما وردت في الإسلام، ومعرفة الحاجات اللازمة لتأهيل الكوادر العاملة في مجال الصحة النفسية ورعاية المسنين، وتوصلت الدراسة إلى مجموعة من النصائح أهمها: تنمية قدرات المسن بحيث يصبح قادرًا على التحكم فيها مع غيره في المجتمع على أساس من العدل والاحترام المتبادل، ودعم دخل المسنين ولو في بعض الظروف الطارئة مثل المرض وتقديم خدمات التأمين الصحي والضمان الاجتماعي ، ومعاشات العجز للمواطنين، وإنشاء وحدة طبية للمسنين في كل مدينة وعمل الكشف الطبي الدوري لاكتشاف الأمراض مبكرًا ولضمان نتيجة العلاج، وعقد المؤتمرات والندوات والحلقات الدراسية بهدف التعرف على كل ما هو جديد من بحوث عن المسنين وتبادل الخبرات والمعلومات والإنجازات بين جميع العاملين في مجال رعاية المسنين، وتنظيم الرحلات والمقابلات الاجتماعية وإقامة النوادي الخاصة بالمسنين وذلك لرفع الروح المعنوية، وتقديم المعلومات اللازمة للأبناء والأشخاص الذين يقومون برعاية المسنين عن كيفية التعامل معهم والطرق السليمة لرعايتهم وأهمية الاهتمام بالحالة النفسية والغذائية والصحية لهم، والتثقيف التربوي الديني والاجتماعي والصحي للمسنين من خلال تضافر كافة الجهود المقدمة من البيت والمجتمع بمؤسساته المختلفة بالنواحي التالية ) العناصر الغذائية اللازمة للجسم – التلوث البيئي – المحافظة على الجسم والنفس والمال ..... الخ)، وتكثيف وسائل الإرشاد النفسي للمسنين لحل مشكلاتهم والعمل على تكيفهم مع البيئة، ومسايرة الأمور الطارئة في المنزل وطرق تقديم الدعم المعنوي والمادي، وضرورة الاستفادة من خبرات هذه الفئة في مجال أعمالهم السابقة من استغلال خبرتهم في الحياة وعدم الحكم عليهم بالتقاعد .
