يعدّ تناول التراث لدى المفكرين المسلمين، مسألة ذات أهمية قصوى، ذلك أن سؤال النهضة؛ يرتهن وبقوة في الجواب عنه؛ إلى العقابيل التي يشكلها؛ الارتماء في أحضان الماضي دائما. والأستاذ عبد المجيد الشرفي، معدود في سلك أولئك المفكرين؛ الذي يسعون إلى إحداث طفرة بحثية جادة، تعيد الحياة إلى ومضات تراثية، كان بإمكانها أن تكون رافدا لإحداث تطور فكري وعلمي فائقين. يهدف البحث إلى إبراز الجهد المبذول من طرف الشرفي، حين وقف على جهود المحدثين في تدوين السنة؛ فأثنى عليها، غير أنه أوعز في ذات الوقت إلى الدراسين في كل من كتابيه: "الإسلام والحداثة"، و"تحديث الفكر الإسلامي"، بضرورة توجيه العناية للبحث في كثير من المرويّ المشكِل، سواء في جهة صدوره عن النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم، أو من حيث اعتباره مصدرا ثانيا من مصادر التشريع. إن مباحثات الشرفي، تنطلق من إيمانه الجازم بأنّ الحداثة في العالم العربي لا يمكن صناعتها بعيدا عن التراث أبدا، وأنه لا يمكن حسم جدليّة الإسلام والحداثة، حتى يفكك معطى (الإسلام)، أهو الرسالي أم التاريخي، مع اختياره الجدلية بينها وبين الإسلام التاريخي، جاعلا من ضمن الأخير مبحث السنة، ويصرّ الشرفي على ترديده لمقولة: "إن الحديث عومل معاملة القرآن، وأنه اعتبر هو إياه على رتبة واحدة" وهي في الحقيقة قاصمة ظهر، تحتاج منا إلى إعادة تفكيك واجتهاد

Addressing the heritage of Muslim intellectuals is of paramount importance, as the question of Renaissance depends strongly on the answer to it, to the punishments it constitutes; and to rest in the arms of the past. Professor Abdel-Magied Al-Charfi, counting on those thinkers, who are seeking a serious research breakthrough that brings life back to heritage flashes, could have been a tributary of great intellectual and scientific development. The research aims to highlight the effort sought by Al-Sharafi, when he stood on the efforts of the modernists in the recording of the Sunnah, but at the same time instructed the scholars in both his books: "Islam and Modernity", and "The Modernization of Islamic Thought", the need to pay attention to the research in many of the problem narrations, both in terms of its publication by the Prophet and in terms of considering it a second source of legislation. Al-Shorfa's discussions are based on his firm belief that modernity in the Arab world can never be made away from heritage, and that the dialectic of Islam and modernity cannot be resolved until the giver (Islam), is the missionary or the historical, is dismantled with his controversial choice. Between it and historical Islam, making among the latter the research of the Sunnah, al-Shorfa insists on repeating the saying: "The Hadith was treated like the Qur'an, and that he considered it to be at the same rank" which is in fact a back-ender, needs us to re-dismantle Diligence
