تعتبر الأسرة هي نواة المجتمع وأن اي تفكك في الأسرة يؤدي الى خلل وعدم توازن في المجتمع وخاصة المجتمع العراقي ، وبما أن الوضع الطبيعي اللأسرة التي تتكون من الأب والأم والأبناء قـائم على علاقات مثبته ومتماسكه بين افرادها ،وأن من أهم المشاكل الأجتماعيه التي تؤدي الى تفكيك الأسرة هو العنف الأسري الذي يقوض أركان الأسره فتفقد الكثيرمن العطاء والأستمرار لعملية بناء أسرة متكاملة.
