من أهم مشكلات الدعوة إلى الله في عصرنا الحاضر عدم الرفق واللين والأخذ بالشدة والغلظة من قبل الدعاة إلى الله تعالى، وما يترتب على ذلك من نتائج عكسية، الأمر الذي كان له بالغ الأثر في مسار الدعوة الإسلامية، مما جعل دراسة هذا الموضوع مطلباً ضرورياً وحاجة ملحة، وقد بينت في هذا البحث معنى الرفق واللين، وأهمية دراسة هذا الأسلوب الدعوي المهم، وبيان أهم معالمه من خلال محاورة سيدنا إبراهيم لأبيه، ووضحت فيه الثمرات التي نجنيها من خلال هذه الدعوة المباركة، واستنتجت أنّ الرفق واللين من أهم صفات الداعية إلى جانب العلم والإحسان، مع وجوب اتباع المناهج والطرق الدعوية الحكيمة التي انتهجها الأنبياء والمرسلين، والسير على نهجهم، فهو العلاج الشافي لكل أمراض الدعوة والدعاة، والحذر كل الحذر من مخالفة هذا المنهج في الدعوة إلى الله تعالى.
