يهدف البحث إلى دراسة النشاط الزراعي والرعوي في مدينة زليتن خلال فترة المملكة الليبية، لمناقشة التطورات التي طرأت على هذا القطاع، وأثرها الاجتماعي والاقتصادي على مجتمع المدينة، لما مثله من أهمية اقتصادية، ومدى تأثير الاتفاقيات الدولية التي أبرمتها الحكومات الليبية مع الأمم المتحدة، وحكومات أمريكا وإيطاليا على القطاع الزراعي والثروة الحيوانية، كما يُعرِّج على الإجراءات الوقائية التي كانت تُتخذ في سبيل النهوض بالزراعة والثروة الحيوانية، وقد استخدم لتحقيق هذه الأهداف المنهج الوصفي السردي التحليلي. وقد خلص البحث إلى عدة نتائج، لعلَّ أهمها: أن الحكومة سعت إلى إنشاء المؤسسات الزراعية التي أوكلت إليها مهمَّة القيام والإشراف على العديد من المشاريع الزراعية، ودعم الزراعة والمُزارع، كما ساهم التعاون بين الحكومة الليبية والمنظمات التابعة للأمم المتحدة، وبعض الدول الأخرى في تطوير قطاع الزراعة وذلك من خلال تنفيذ عدة مشاريع زراعية بالمدينة، وقد أكد البحث تأثر النشاط الزراعي والرعوي بالمدينة بالتغيرات المُناخية.

Abstract:
This research paper aims to study the agricultural and pastoral activity in Zliten during the period of the Libyan Kingdom, to discuss the developments in this sector, and its social and economic impact on the city's community, due to its economic importance .Furthermore, how much was the influence of the international conventions concluded by the Libyan governments with the United Nations, and the governments of United State of America, and Italy on the agricultural sector and livestock. It additionally reviews the preventive measures that have been taken to advance agriculture and livestock.
The narrative analytical approach was used to achieve the objectives of this study. Among the most important results of this study is that the government endeavored to establish agricultural foundations that were entrusted with the mission of implementing and superintending many agricultural projects, and supporting agriculture and farmer. The cooperation between the Libyan government, United Nations organizations, and some other countries also contributed to the development of the agricultural sector through the implementation of several agricultural projects in the city. The research argued that the agricultural and pastoral activity in the city was affected by climatic changes as well.
