What we see in the narrative structure of the Qur’anic story is that it is mostly based on three pillars, represented by the beginning, the middle, and the end. This structure is based on a foundation of organic interconnectedness that pulls the edges of the story together, so that we see as we read these stories in depth that there are visible and unseen threads. It performs its function in achieving cohesion between the three pillars of the structure: the beginning, middle, and end.
