يأتي هذا الكتاب جهداً ثقافياً وتربوياً فعالاً، يهتم بنقل التراث العُماني وبأسلوب شائق إلى الأجيال الحالية، وداعماً للدور التربوي الذي تقوم به المدرسة في ربط المناهج التعليمية بتلك الموروثات، وباستخدام الطرائق والأساليب التدريس الحديثة، بيحث تسهم في تعزيز دور التراث في نمو الشخصية العمانية وإبراز هويتها الاصة والمتميزة، كما من الممكن من خلال توظيف التراث غير المادي تعديل بعض الألفاظ غير المناسبة في الحكايات والأمثال الشعبية بما لا يخل بمعناها والهدف منها. جاء الكتاب في خمس فصول، فكان الأول عبارة عن مدخل إلى التثراث الثقافي غير المادي، وركز الفصل الثاني على التجارب المحلية والعالمية في الاهتمام بالتراث غير المادي، والفصل الثالث اهتم بإبراز العلاقة بين التعليم والتراث ودور التعليم في المجتمع، أما الفصل الرابع فقد قدم تطبيقات عملية من خلال تحليل مجموعة من الحكايات الشعبية العمانية لتعرف المفاهيم العلمية والقيم التربوية المتمضمنة فيها، وأخيراً أحتوى الفصل الخامس على نماج من دروس عملية من مواد دراسية مختلفة تضمنت داخلها حكايات شعبية عُمانية.

This book is an effective cultural and educational effort, concerned with transmitting the Omani heritage in an interesting manner to current generations, and in support of the educational role played by the school in linking the educational curricula to those legacies, and using modern teaching methods and methods, thus contributing to strengthening the role of heritage in the growth of the Omani personality and highlighting its identity. It is also possible, by employing intangible heritage, to modify some inappropriate words in folk tales and proverbs in a way that does not prejudice their meaning and purpose. The book came in five chapters. The first was an introduction to intangible cultural heritage. The second chapter focused on local and global experiences in caring for intangible heritage. The third chapter was concerned with highlighting the relationship between education and heritage and the role of education in society. The fourth chapter presented practical applications. By analyzing a group of Omani folk tales to identify the scientific concepts and educational values contained in them, and finally, the fifth chapter contained models of practical lessons from different academic subjects that included Omani folk tales.
