تهدف الدراسة الحالية التعرف على درجة توفر الكفايات القيادية في الجامعات الليبية بناء على المعايير المهنية الامريكية للقادة التربويين، ولتحقيق ذلك اعتمدت الدراسة على المنهج الوصفي المسحي لجمع البيانات من عينة الدراسة التي تكونت من (157)، قائداً أكاديمياً في الجامعات الليبية، وأشارت النتائج إلى أن واقع توفر الكفايات القيادية لدى القيادات الأكاديمية في الجامعات الليبية بناء على المعايير المهنية الامريكية للقادة التربويين كانت منخفضة، كما اوضحت النتائج عدم وجود فروق ذات دلالة إحصائية في واقع الحاجة إلى توفر الكفايات القيادية في الجامعات الليبية استناداً إلى المعايير المهنية الامريكية للقادة التربويين عند مستوى دلالة (0.05 = α) تعزي إلى متغيري (المركز الوظيفي – والجنس) عند عينة الدراسة. ووجود فروق ذات دلالة احصائية في واقع الحاجة إلى توفر الكفايات القيادية في الجامعات الليبية استناداً إلى المعايير المهنية الامريكية للقادة التربويين عند مستوى دلالة (0.05 = α) تعزى لمتغير (الرتبة الأكاديمية)، في جميع المجالات، والأداة ككل. وعليه أوصى الباحثان بدعم توفر الكفايات القيادية لدى القيادات الأكاديمية بالجامعات الليبية القائمة على المعايير المهنية الأمريكية للقيادات التربوية، من خلال الدورات والبرامج التدريبية وزيادة الوعي بأهمية تطوير كفايات القيادات الأكاديمية وفق معايير عالمية لتحقيق الجودة في الأداء.

The current study aims to identify the reality of the availability of leadership competencies in Libyan universities based on the American professional standards for educational leaders. To achieve this, the study relied on the descriptive survey approach to collect data from the study sample, which consisted of (157), academic leaders in Libyan universities. The results indicated that the reality of the availability of leadership competencies among academic leaders in Libyan universities, based on the American professional standards for educational leaders, was low, The results also showed the absence of statistically significant differences in the reality of the need for leadership competencies in Libyan universities based on the American professional standards for educational leaders at the level of significance (α = 0.05) attributed to the variables (career position - and gender) in the study sample. And there are statistically significant differences in the reality of the need to provide leadership competencies in Libyan universities based on the American professional standards for educational leaders at the level of significance (α = 0.05) due to the variable (academic rank), in all fields, and the tool as a whole. Accordingly, the researchers recommended supporting the availability of leadership competencies for academic leaders in Libyan universities based on the American professional standards for educational leaders, through training courses and programs and raising awareness of the importance of developing academic leadership competencies according to international standards to achieve quality in performance
