Courtyard is a heart pulsed of Islamic architecture . Its sources are of ancient civilization. Courtyard is one of the Sumerian architecture figuration . In Islamic architecture courtyard is of multi function . It is of secular , social , environmental and economical purpose. The importance of its existence to be space of meeting for all users, according to the function of the building. Many types of Islamic buildings contain that element, like houses , schools(Madrasa), hospitals (Bermestant) and mosques(Jamea) .
The research concentrates and discusses the origin of its resources as prototype , the basic function of the court yard in Islamic architecture and its classification. Court yard reflects Islamic philosophy . Wisdom is one of the conception of Islamic principle , which can reflect the transcendental role. The problem of the research reveals through the origin of courtyard in ancient civilization and the filtration of Islamic role to appear in Islamic buildings. Analytical methodology depended to get the findings. Many indicators appeared in , the multifunction of courtyard as environmental element through temperature organizing according to its relation with the global fabric .Privacy , was one of the most important character which reflect the social value of Islamic norms, and aesthetics' values more important in its figuration which reflect the Islamic dualities of appearance and essence as findings .
