إن أوجه الإفـادة مـن مصـادر المعلومات الالكترونية في البحث العلمي عند مستخدمي شبكة الانترنت في العالم تنمو بشكل كبير في الاستشهاد بالمصادر الالكترونية في البحوث العلمية. كما استعرضت الباحثة مجموعة من المعايير الدولية والعوامل التي تؤثر في استخدام المصادر الالكترونية سلبا وايجابيا .كما يتناول هذا الفصل مجموعة عناصر البيانات الإجبارية والاختيارية التي تدرج عند الاستشهاد وبمصادر المعلومات الالكترونية مع معـرفة تقييـم مصـادر عرض لأهـم معايير المستخدمة في تقييم هذا الوعاء ألمعلوماتي الجديد.
كما تعد الانترنت والمعلوماتية من أهم المصطلحات المتداولة في البحث عن الإنتاج الفكري المتخصص خلال السنوات الماضية وهي مجموعة من القدرات التي تساعد الباحث على تحديد احتياجاته من المعلومات في الوقت المناسب والوصول إلى هذه المعلومات وتقييمها ثم استخدامها لكي يتم التعامل مع البيئة الرقمية .لذلك فقد نمت الثقافة المعلوماتية للباحثين بشكل كبير خلال الأعوام العشرة الأخيرة سواء على المستوى العربي أو العالمي كما أشار العديد من الدراسات إلى الاستفادة من مصادر المعلومات الالكترونية من جانب المتخصصين في مجال العلوم التطبيقية.

The benefits of electronic sources of information in scientific research for Internet users in the world grow significantly in citing electronic sources in scientific research. The researcher also reviewed a set of international standards and the factors that affect the use of electronic resources negatively and positively. This chapter also deals with a group of compulsory and optional data elements that are included when citing and electronic information sources with the knowledge of evaluating the sources of presentation of the most important criteria used in evaluating this new information container.
The Internet and informatics are also among the most important terms used in the search for specialized intellectual production during the past years, and it is a set of capabilities that help the researcher determine his information needs in a timely manner, access and evaluate this information, and then use it in order to deal with the digital environment. Therefore, the culture has grown Informatics has been widely used by researchers during the last ten years, whether at the Arab or international level, as many studies have indicated to benefit from electronic information sources by specialists in the field of applied sciences
